Posted by Brian Barnes under News, tornado Leave a Comment

Damage survey results are also in their final stages for the Edmond tornado. The preliminary data indicates that there were 3 tornadoes. The first tornado had the shortest life of the three and struck NW of Bethany, it travelled ¾ of a mile and was about 30 yards wide and did EF1 damage.

Tornado #2 had the longest track of 6.5 miles and was almost as wide as a football field (75 yards); it did substantial damage to well constructed homes and commercial structures near Edmond and will be rated at EF2.

Tornado #3 impacted a more rural area near Highway 105 and Henney, so naturally it will have a lesser damage rating and will go in the history books as an EF0. It also travelled ¾ of a mile and was about 20 yards wide.
